Federal Communications Commission – Enterprise IT Services
AAC provided financial, business, and IT infrastructure-related services to the FCC, which encompassed IT infrastructure engineering, operations, and maintenance support for the FCC’s IT infrastructure, data centers and central and regional offices, as well as service desk, cloud migration, and end user services and program management.
AAC ensured LANs, WANs, WLANs, FCC Unified Communications (UC) deployment, and FCC Call Centers were operating at peak efficiency. AAC designed, installed, configured, maintained and operated a collection of tools that support system management applications.
AAC staffed a multi-tier service desk, located in Washington DC, and Gettysburg, PA, that served as the SPOC for all IT and phone-related problems or requests for 2,250 users in the Washington, DC Headquarters, Gettysburg, PA location and 19 regional offices.
AAC provided server and system administration services to support the FCC network. The operating environment supported included MS Windows Server, Open Systems (UNIX, RedHat Linux, and Oracle Solaris) and VMware.
Our service desk and desktop support teams used ServiceNow to track incidents and service requests, update the knowledgebase, and manage problems. We worked with the FCC to draft a roadmap to integrate their two service desks (HQ and Gettysburg) into a single user experience for the end user.
AAC was responsible for all operational facets of every FCC data center until September 2015. Following FCC CIO’s vision, AAC lifted and shifted contents of two DC HQ data centers to a commercial cloud service provider’s facility in West Virginia.
