Mark Birch

President & CEO

Mark Birch rejoined AAC in April 2019 after spending 3+ years as the President/CEO of Automation Technologies Inc. (ATI). As President, Mark is responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction for AAC as well as driving the company’s growth. Mark is a 30+-year veteran of the Federal IT industry in the Civilian, Defense and Intelligence sectors. Prior to his tenure at ATI, Mark was Vice President of Operations at AAC for 10+ years leading both Civilian and DoD programs.

Mark graduated from Radford University with a B.S. in Business Management. He attended the Executive Program for Strategy and Organization at Stanford University as well as courses in Capture and Proposal Management from Shipley Associates. Mark is ITIL v3 Foundations certified.

Ugur Koser

Ugur Koser

Vice President, Information Systems, CIO&CTO

As CIO/CTO, Ugur Koser is responsible for providing technological direction, strategic leadership and expert advice to AAC and its customers. Ugur’s pragmatic and hands-on approach results in consistently high quality, best-value, well-timed solutions for customers. With Ugur’s guidance, AAC has helped federal agencies adopt new technologies and processes, reduce capital and service delivery expenses and optimize entire IT environments.

Ugur spearheaded and continues to lead AAC’s Process Improvement and IT Service Management groups. His team ensured that AAC met the demanding ISO 20000 criteria for IT Service Management. Completing his graduate studies in computer science at the George Washington University before joining AAC in 1984.

Laura Schindler

Laura Schindler

Vice President of Finance and Human Resources

As VP of Finance and Human Resources, Laura Schindler is responsible for directing all aspects of accounting operations, price proposals, and HR/Recruiting activities. She oversees all transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payroll and financial reporting as well as analyzing AAC’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. 

She directs a cross-functional team comprised of HR generalists and recruiters providing expertise in staffing, compensation, benefits, organizational development, training, and annual appraisal program. 

Laura started with AAC in 1986 as an AP Clerk and has progressed through the company. She graduated from Marymount University with a BBA degree in Accounting.

 

Rob Stevenson

Rob Stevenson

Vice President - Operations

Rob joined AAC in 2014 and is responsible for the operations, service delivery, and contractual fulfillment of all AAC contracts and programs. He brings a strong competency and commitment of consistent service delivery and customer satisfaction to each of our customers.

Rob has over 30 years of operational and financial experience in the Federal DoD, Civilian, and Health sectors. He specializes in the development and delivery of business solutions to meet the unique needs of each customer. Prior to joining AAC, he held executive, operational, and financial positions with CSC, DynCorp, and GTE.

Rob received his B.S. and M.B.A. (Finance) from Virginia Tech.

JIM LONGI

JIM LONGI

Vice President, Business Development

As VP of Business Development, Jim leads AAC’s business development, capture, and proposal teams. He has over 14 years of experience building and leading teams that successfully served and supported various federal agencies. Jim has a deep history of partnership with industry leaders and currently serves as Vice President for the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Quantico Chapter.

Jim has successfully led teams that have won over $2B in contracts, delivering services for telecommunications, network modernization, and IT services. Prior to joining AAC, Jim held various leadership positions at AT&T including Director of Business Development for the Department of Defense, General Manager for the Federal Civilian Foreign Operations, and the Client Executive/Director roles at AT&T Global Business.

Jim holds a B.A. from the State University of New York at Cortland and currently serves on their board of directors. He also earned an MBA from Boston University. Jim honorably served our nation as an officer and naval aviator in the United States Marine Corps before retiring in 2009.
