AAC Appoints a Director of Process Improvement

Jul 10, 2007

AAC Inc., a Virginia-based systems integration and IT services provider, announced today that it has appointed Erica Sherman as AAC’s Director of Process Improvement.  This new role is very important since AAC became ISO 9001:2000 registered in 2006 and is planning to implement ISO/IEC 20000:2005 using the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.

Ms. Sherman will continue to serve as the quality management representative for all ISO and now also ITIL functions at AAC.  She will be responsible for managing, implementing and internal auditing of the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) system based on ISO/IEC 20000:2005.  Recently, Ms. Sherman received ITIL training and passed the exam to achieve her Foundation Certification in IT Service Management.

“Erica was instrumental in AAC achieving ISO 9001:2000 registration,” AAC President Jim Francis said.  “We couldn’t have done it without her and I know she is the right person to take us down the path of ITIL and ISO 20000.”

ITIL is a framework of best practice approaches intended to facilitate the delivery of high quality IT services.  ISO/IEC 20000:2005 helps identify and manage the key processes involved in delivering effective IT services which meet the needs of the business and the customer.
